Which NFL teams will have their bye this season?
A bye week is often a time for teams to work out their weaknesses and look for their next step.
The Saints and Patriots will likely need to use their bye week to find a replacement for Brandon Browner, and the Eagles and Falcons have the option to work with their bye and also have time to prepare.
With this week’s bye coming up, here’s what we know so far: New Orleans will be without Brandin Cooks, who suffered a season-ending shoulder injury on Monday Night Football, and will be relying on rookie Brandin Cotton to lead their backfield.
Cotton will play in his first game since suffering the injury in Week 3.
In Week 4, he rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns.
Cotton had a nice game against the Giants, as he rushed seven times for 29 yards and one score.
A big question mark for the Saints this season is at quarterback, as Matt Cassel is still in the midst of a concussion protocol.
The Falcons have some question marks at running back, with Tevin Coleman suffering a season ending ankle injury in the second half of their Week 3 loss to the Colts.
They’ll have to rely on Ryan Mathews and Ryan Williams to fill the void left by Coleman, but there is hope for Atlanta.
Williams has been solid since being moved from receiver to running back in a trade with the Colts, but Coleman is a player that can be utilized both as a receiver and as a runner.
Dallas’ offense has been a major problem for the Falcons this season.
The Cowboys have been running the ball for just over 40 percent of their total offensive snaps, which is a high percentage for any NFL team.
Matt Ryan has been the only quarterback to complete over 60 percent of his passes for the Cowboys, which would be the third highest rate of any quarterback in the league.
Dallas has a great defense, which has allowed just 21.4 points per game, which ranks eighth in the NFL.
New England has one of the better offensive lines in the AFC East, and their offense has scored just over 30 points per contest.
The Patriots are coming off a game where they scored 38 points and ran the ball well.
Green Bay is one of three teams with a bye week, as the Packers will be making their third consecutive trip to the Super Bowl.
There is hope in New England, as Green Bay has a bye and a bye in Week 5.
New England has the option of having their bye in week 11, and has the opportunity to start the season on the road.
Denver has a tough road trip to face in Week 6, as they face the Cowboys and the Rams in Week 7.
San Francisco has a home game against New Orleans and a game against Kansas City in Week 8, but it’s not a bad game to start off the season with.
Arizona will be playing against the 49ers in Week 9, and while they have a bye, they have two games against teams that are already on the bye week.
This is the second time that New England will have a team with a game in Week 10, as their Week 11 game against Atlanta comes against the Falcons.
Detroit will have another bye this year.
This time, it will be against the Eagles, who they’ll be playing in Week 13.
